What the built-in tooling covers changes over time. The question we work through with you is what your business has to satisfy: how long records must be kept, whether a copy has to sit outside the environment it protects, and who is able to delete it. If it already covers you, we will say so.

Yes, and it's simpler than most people expect, with one honest caveat: backup history can't move between platforms. Each vendor stores retention in its own format, so your existing backup jobs and archive stay with your old tool. A switch works by starting fresh: the new backup protects your data from day one, and you keep the old account in read-only mode, or take a final export, until its retention window no longer matters. We help you compare the options, plan the overlap, and time the cutover so there is never a gap in protection.
