vMX is the virtual version of the Meraki MX. You deploy the vMX image straight from the AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, or Alibaba Cloud marketplace (or on Cisco NFVIS) — the image itself is free — and this license activates it as a cloud-managed VPN concentrator / SD-WAN hub. Ideal for extending Auto VPN and SD-WAN into your public-cloud VPCs/VNets.
- vMX Medium sizing: up to 500 Mbps VPN throughput and 250 site-to-site VPN tunnels — sized for mid-size cloud deployments.
- Cloud management, site-to-site Auto VPN / SD-WAN, and stateful firewall via the Meraki dashboard.
- Per-instance license: one license per vMX instance for the full 3-year term; co-terminated to your Meraki organization's expiry date.
- Runs on AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Alibaba Cloud, or Cisco NFVIS; managed from the same Meraki dashboard as your physical MX.
