The Cisco Meraki MV13 is a third-generation, cloud-managed indoor fixed-lens mini dome camera designed for organisations that demand high-definition security without the complexity of traditional NVR infrastructure. Packing an 8.4 MP sensor capable of recording at up to 4K (3840 × 2160) resolution, the MV13 combines enterprise-grade video quality with a compact, discreet form factor that is ideal for entrances, hallways, lobbies, retail floors, and general-purpose indoor spaces. Its edge architecture eliminates the need for on-premises servers, while 256 GB of integrated high-endurance solid-state storage keeps footage securely on the device — with optional cloud archive tiers available. A Cisco Meraki licence is required to activate and operate the MV13 (sold separately).
Night-time and low-light coverage is handled by built-in IR illuminators with an effective range of up to 15 m (49 ft), and three integrated microphones provide selectable audio recording. The 3.3 mm fixed lens delivers a wide 101.3° horizontal field of view (119.7° diagonal / 54.4° vertical), making it easy to monitor large areas from a single mount point. Video is encoded using H.264 with Meraki's Smart Codec technology, which dynamically adapts compression in real time to maximise on-camera retention and minimise WAN bandwidth — averaging roughly double the retention versus standard H.264. The camera also supports wireless connectivity (802.11 b/g/n/ac 2.4 GHz & 5 GHz) for use as a sensor gateway.
The MV13 is powered by 802.3af PoE (maximum 12.95 W) and is managed entirely through the Meraki Dashboard — no on-premises software required. Administrators can create video walls, perform motion search, motion recap, and motion heatmaps, use Attribute Search to locate people or vehicles quickly, and configure Line Crossing and Area Occupancy analytics. Machine-learning-based computer vision enables real-time object detection, classification, and tracking of people and vehicles directly on the camera's powerful onboard chipset. Full-disk AES-256 encryption, automatically provisioned TLS certificates, Secure Boot, and signed firmware protect data end-to-end.
