The Cisco Meraki MV63 is a third-generation fixed-lens outdoor mini-dome smart camera that brings together physical security and advanced AI-driven analytics in a powerful yet compact form factor. Combining an 8.41MP backlit CMOS sensor with up to 4K video recording and H.264 Smart Codec encoding, the MV63 delivers exceptional image clarity for monitoring entrances, exits, perimeters, and parking areas — all managed effortlessly through the Meraki cloud dashboard. Cloud-augmented edge storage with 256GB of built-in high-endurance SSD means video is retained locally even during network interruptions, while metadata is synchronised to the cloud for fast, secure retrieval without the need for on-site NVRs or dedicated video management servers.
Built for demanding outdoor environments, the MV63 carries IK10+ vandal resistance and IP67 weatherproofing ratings, and includes built-in heating elements that keep the camera operational across a wide operating range of −40 °C to +50 °C. IR illuminators provide clear night-time visibility up to 20 m (66 ft), while EN 50155 Railway Compliance certification ensures reliable performance against shock and vibration in transportation deployments. A 102° horizontal field of view, combined with the compact mini-dome profile and universal mounting plate, makes the MV63 easy to position on walls, ceilings, or corner mounts across sites of any size. Integrated 802.11ac Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) allows wireless deployment where cabling is difficult, and the camera draws power over a single 802.3at PoE+ cable (25.5 W maximum).
The MV63 is powered by an onboard machine-learning processor that enables real-time object detection, classification, and tracking of people and vehicles, as well as attribute detection, line crossing, area occupancy monitoring, and motion heatmaps — all without any additional server infrastructure. Three built-in microphones with an external hardware mute switch support optional audio recording. Security is enforced at every layer: AES-256 full-disk encryption, secure boot, signed firmware, a dedicated hardware security chip, automatically provisioned TLS certificates, WPA2/WPA3 wireless encryption, and role-based access controls. The MV63 is NDAA Section 889 compliant and TAA compliant, making it suitable for government and regulated-sector deployments.
The MV63 is managed exclusively through the Meraki Dashboard — no on-premises software or video management servers required. Stream live or historical footage locally or remotely, build video walls, export clips, and leverage powerful computer vision analytics, all from a single pane of glass. A Meraki MV Enterprise License is required and sold separately (available in 1, 3, 5, 7, and 10-year terms). Optional MV Sense and Cloud Archive licences extend analytics capabilities and off-site video retention. The MV63 ships with a five-year hardware warranty with advanced replacement.
