The Cisco Meraki MV63M is a third-generation cloud-managed smart camera that combines physical security with advanced analytics in a compact, fixed-lens outdoor mini-dome form factor. Featuring an 8.41 MP image sensor and up to 4K video resolution with H.264 Smart Codec encoding, the MV63M delivers exceptional video clarity for monitoring building entrances, exits, car parks, and general perimeters. Its edge-based architecture—with 512 GB of high-endurance onboard SSD storage and metadata synchronised to the Meraki cloud—eliminates the need for costly NVR servers and minimises physical infrastructure requirements. A Meraki MV license is required to activate and manage this camera and is sold separately.
Built for demanding outdoor environments, the MV63M carries IK10+ vandal resistance and IP67 weatherproofing ratings, and includes built-in heating elements to ensure reliable operation down to –40 °C. The 3.3 mm fixed lens with f/2.0 aperture delivers a wide 101.3° horizontal field of view, while built-in IR illuminators provide effective night vision up to 20 m (66 ft). The camera is also EN 50155 Railway Compliance certified, making it suitable for transportation environments subject to shock and vibration. Integrated dual-band 802.11ac wireless provides flexible deployment where wired cabling is impractical, complemented by a 10/100/1000BASE-T PoE+ (802.3at) Ethernet port for primary connectivity.
The MV63M is powered by machine-learning-based computer vision that performs real-time object detection, classification, and tracking of people and vehicles. Attribute detection and search capabilities provide deeper situational awareness and valuable business intelligence without compromising security. Three built-in microphones with an external hardware disable switch offer optional audio capture, with AES-256 full-disk encryption and TLS securing all data in transit and at rest. Secure boot, signed firmware, and a dedicated hardware security chip round out a robust, end-to-end security architecture.
