The Cisco Meraki MV73M is a third-generation smart camera that combines physical security with advanced AI-powered analytics in a rugged varifocal dome form factor, purpose-built for outdoor and demanding environments. Featuring an 8.41MP 1/2.8" progressive CMOS sensor and 3.0–9.0 mm varifocal lens with a horizontal field of view of 36°–112°, the MV73M delivers stunning 4K (3840×2160) video with H.264 Smart Codec encoding — giving security teams the flexibility to zoom into subjects of interest without sacrificing image quality. Built-in IR illuminators effective up to 30 m (98 ft) and an auto day/night mode ensure continuous, clear footage around the clock. Rugged IK10+ vandal resistance and an IP67 weather rating make it equally at home monitoring entrances, perimeters, car parks, and any other high-exposure location in the harshest of conditions.

The MV73M ships with 512 GB of high-endurance onboard solid-state storage, enabling cloud-augmented edge storage that keeps video local on the camera while pushing metadata to the Meraki cloud for instant search and playback from anywhere. No NVR, VMS, or on-site server is required, dramatically simplifying installation and ongoing maintenance. Four built-in microphones enable audio recording alongside video, and the camera supports optimised retention schedules — including motion-based recording — to maximise usable storage. Video can be live-streamed natively in a browser with no additional client software, and clips can be downloaded or shared as secure links directly from the Meraki Dashboard.

Intelligence is built in at the edge. Machine-learning-based computer vision enables real-time object detection, classification, and tracking of people and vehicles — no additional servers or software licences required beyond the Meraki camera licence. Out-of-the-box analytics include motion search, motion recap, motion heatmaps, and people counting. The Meraki Dashboard provides an intuitive, unified interface for managing cameras, controlling granular access permissions, configuring video walls, and applying DSCP traffic marking — accessible from anywhere on any device. End-to-end security is ensured through AES-256 full-disk encryption, automatic TLS certificate provisioning, secure boot, signed firmware, and a dedicated hardware security chip. The MV73M is NDAA compliant and backed by a five-year hardware warranty with advanced replacement.

Connectivity options include a 1× 10/100/1000BASE-T Ethernet (RJ45) port and integrated 802.11ac wireless with dual-band support, providing flexible deployment in locations where cabling is impractical. Power is supplied via 802.3at PoE+ (25.5 W maximum) or a 12 VDC/24 VAC screw terminal input. The compact dome measures 166.39 mm × 103 mm (diameter × height) and weighs 1,480 g, with tool-free varifocal lens adjustment and compatibility with a broad range of Meraki mounting accessories including pole mounts, wall-mount brackets, corner mounts, conduit back boxes, and more.
