The Cisco Meraki MV73X is a third-generation outdoor varifocal dome smart camera that combines physical security and advanced AI-powered analytics in a rugged, compact form factor. Featuring a 1/2.8" 8.41MP (3854×2176) progressive CMOS image sensor and a 3.0–9.0 mm varifocal lens with a 36°–112° horizontal field of view, the MV73X delivers the flexibility to cover anything from wide-area perimeter surveillance to detailed telephoto monitoring — from a single camera. With support for up to 4K (3840×2160) H.264 Smart Codec recording at up to 15fps, and built-in High Dynamic Range (HDR), footage remains sharp and detailed even in challenging lighting conditions.

Built for demanding outdoor environments, the MV73X carries an IK10+ vandal-resistance rating and IP67 weatherproofing, making it suitable for perimeter monitoring, entrances, exits, car parks, and other exposed locations. Integrated IR illuminators provide effective night vision up to 30 m (98 ft), and onboard heating elements ensure reliable operation across temperatures from -40°C to 50°C (-40°F to 122°F). With 1 TB of high-endurance solid-state onboard storage and cloud-augmented edge architecture, the camera eliminates the need for NVRs or VMS software, dramatically simplifying deployment and ongoing management. Smart Retention further optimises storage by capturing high-resolution footage during motion events while using lower-resolution continuous recording at other times.

The MV73X is equipped with machine-learning-based computer vision capabilities that enable real-time object detection, classification, and tracking of people and vehicles. Advanced features include Attribute Search, motion heatmaps, motion recap, and motion search — delivering actionable business intelligence straight from the camera without any additional servers or software. Audio recording is supported via four built-in microphones, and security is ensured through full AES 256-bit disk encryption, automatically provisioned TLS certificates, and secure boot with signed firmware backed by a hardware security chip. The MV73X is NDAA compliant and supports both wired Gigabit Ethernet (802.3at PoE) and dual-band wireless (2.4 GHz 802.11b/g/n and 5 GHz 802.11a/n/ac) connectivity.

All Cisco Meraki MV cameras are centrally managed through the Meraki Dashboard, providing seamless configuration, monitoring, and firmware updates from anywhere. Compatible with a wide range of Meraki mounting accessories including wall brackets, pole mounts, corner mounts, and conduit back boxes, the MV73X is a versatile choice for deployments of any size, from a handful of cameras to 10,000+.
